A.    Research projects

a)      On going

                    i.            Received a research grand from DST-SERB, New Delhi, on the topic entitled Biodiversity, conservation and molecular characterization of endemic and threatened fishes of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Western Ghats with the total budget of Rs 41,06,000.00 for the duration of 4 Years.

 

                  ii.            Received a research grand from University Grand commission (UGC) New Delhi, on the topic entitled Fish germplasm inventory, habitat quality assessment and mapping of streams/river of Southern Eastern Ghats linking with GISwith the total budget of Rs. 8.5 Lakhs, for the duration of 3 Years.

 

b)     Completed

1.      Received a research grand from DST-New Delhi, on the topic entitled "Impact/Biotic interaction between exotic and native fishes in Southern Indian rivers /reservoirs" with the total budget of Rs. 12.58 Lakhs, for the duration of 3 Years.

 

2.      Awarded a research project from NSF-USA to study the Phylogeny of Cypriniformes fishes of India under “Cypriniformes Tree of Life project” with the total budget of $1,29,410 USD for the duration of 3 Years

 

3.      Diversity and Distribution of Fishes in Muthupet and Point Calimere Wild Life Sanctuary. TN, Forest Department funded project. Budget Rs. 50, 000/-Duration 6 month (Dec 2005-May 2006).

 

4.      Cat fish diversity in Anamalai hills. NSF-USA funded project. Budget: $3,000 USD; Duration 6 months

 

5.      Diversity, distribution of fishes of the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary and National Park TN, Forest Department funded project. Budget Rs. 50, 000/-Duration 6 month (April 2003 -June 2004)

 

6.      Diversity, Ecological structure and Conservation of threatened fishes of the Nilgiri Biosphere. CSIR-Delhi funded project. Budget Rs. 2.48 Lakhs; duration 3 Years. (Oct 97 -Sep 2000)

 

  1. Computing skills: Good in Computer hardware and networking; Good in statistical data analysis using SPSS, XLstat and Biostat, Well experienced in AcrGIS
